The 10-week Lessons in Meditation online course is designed to provide in-depth instruction in scientific meditation techniques that bring more peace, deeper relaxation, and focused concentration to every area of your life, regardless of outer conditions.

This course is designed to share with you scientific yoga meditation techniques and precepts based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda, author of Autobiography of a Yogi.  

These teachings have helped thousands of people all over the world to meditate deeply, and to discover within their own beings a portable paradise, that they can always access amidst life's many challenges. We hope that you, too, will find yourself embarking on a thrilling journey of self-discovery.


This course will last ten weeks, and in that period you will learn the following essential precepts on Meditation:

  •  Meditation: What it is and isn’t

  • The right physical posture for meditation

  • The Hong-Sau technique of Concentration for stilling the mind

  • The Energization Exercises for increasing willpower and vitality

  • How to use Prayer, Visualization, Affirmation and Chanting as tools to deepen your meditation, and,

  • How to bring the benefits of meditation into daily life


This course serves as a standalone "Learn to meditate" course, and it also serves as the first step towards learning Kriya Yoga, the highest meditation science taught by Paramhansa Yogananda.

There are 8 lessons and you will have 10 weeks to complete the course successfully and receive your certificate of completion.  Each week you will receive a password to open the next weekly lesson which includes:

  • Weekly reading assignment

  • New weekly routine

  • Do This Today checklist

  • Videos

  • Deepen your understanding (written, video or audio)

  • Audio recording of guided meditations

  • Link to Live Weekly Satsang (lesson topic and guided meditation)

  • Quiz

  • Personal support and guidance via email with certified Ananda Meditation Teacher, Elle Gallo

  • Once a month Live Q&A via Zoom

  • Daily Inspiration (optional)
